Following on my summer placement, it made me want to test and create my own method of engagement. Aiming to occupy space that is often trasitional, I wanted to create opportunity to encourages play and give people the option to occupy space for longer.
I designed and built a bench for drawing, aiming to encourage an approachable way of expression. The bench was made out of scrap/ off-cut materials aiming to reduce wastage. By altering the function of a bench it proposes a question of why not change existing infrastructure to have multiple functions to play with.
